The Foundation of Jaipur was laid in 1727. The city was named after Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Hence the city is Called Jaipur. Jaipur is the Capital of Rajasthan. Jaipur is perhaps the earliest of modern planned cities and this despite its traditional lay out. Today everybody calls Jaipur The Pink city.
