Our Story

It was 15 years ago when I started working in the field of Handicrafts production and export. Initial years went by like a breeze with learning about new art forms, appreciating beautiful handcrafted products. But, then in couple of years, when my thinking widened up, I couldn’t ignore the wrath of people behind those beautiful artifacts, who layer by layer, thread by thread, thumb by thumb create such delightful piece of arts. I saw artisans working so hard in cutting wood, painting, carving on the marble, wood and Iron, making decoration pieces out of wood, chisel by chisel. I decided to get them there deserved respect, recognition and life for their price less efforts in keeping these age old art forms alive. That was the day, Gaura Art & Crafts was born. I started sitting with them to get to know them,their art and their lives better. Later on, we started teaming up with women and men from nearby villages who practiced same art. Revealing them and their talents to the whole world was the exact plan, we had for all of us. Now, we are a team of more than 120 Artisans from all over India, lovingly creating products in dozens of incredible artforms from across our Country.

How We Work

To carve a Wooden or Marble or Iron sculptures, we have to start with a process of planning and sketching. Later on the piece of wood, marble and iron is crafted with suitable tools layer by layer around the outline, which results in a finely crafted art of piece statue. We use soft wood to make statues which are easy to be carved.
